5 Reasons Why I Blog!

Ray Edwards “tagged me” today… so I guess I gotta respond. Funny thing is — I’m not sure he tagged me because: a) I’m on his list of top 5 people he likes… or b) The top 5 people he hates (and thus he made me do this post). :)

Alas… I shall attempt an answer:

5 Reasons Why I Blog…

  1. I HATE TO WRITE… and this is a fast, easy, non-threatening way to “get it done.” Actually, I really enjoy writing once I get into it. But I always seem to find things that are higher on my priority list.
  2. MARKETING… every week, I’m finding newer and better ways (to me) for using the blog to market. We’re using it to build momentum in promotions — like at JV Dealmakers. I’m able to put subtle posts that people can learn from here on my personal blog… and if they want to learn more about what I’m discussing — that’s up to them.
  3. SHARE… A lot of people don’t know this yet — but I have TONS of content. More than 23 training videos, books, dozens of articles, reports, transcripts, etc. This blog is giving me a tool to start sharing some of those value-items with my clients and contacts.

    (Hmmm… struggling to think of something else — let me go back to Ray Edward’s blog post and see if I can find something smart to say)

    oh yeah…

  4. SELF-EXPRESSION… (that sounds good)… Actually, I read a stat the other day that says something like 70% of people plan to some day write a book. I can think of no better way to begin “accumulating” content than a blog. I have some thoughts and outlines that I plan to start “fleshing out” using my blog posts.
  5. THE JONESES EFFECT… Think about it — what kind of business-builder, marketer would I be if I didn’t have a blog. Come-on! Everybody’s doin’ it baby!!!!!
