Amazon.com Takes A Bite Out Of The Apple iTunes MP3 Monopoly!

By JP Maroney | January 11, 2008

Let me be very clear about something … I LOVE Apple!

Including my iphone and ipod.

I think they’re a fabulous company with an exciting, Maverick leader in Steve Jobs.

But, another 300 lb gorilla just lumbered into Apple’s orchard.

Amazon.com is offering (as they put it) MP3 downloads for Any Media Player. And, now they have 3 of the BIG labels on their side.

Hey JP - this is great to know. Here in Aussieland BigPond has moved into iTunes market also. Amazon’s presence gives me lots of ideas for some new Squidoo lenses, so I will definitely be pursuing this. I was just thinking yesterday that I needed some music lenses but was unsure of what affiliate program to promote. I like the fact that Amazon is in the field - their name will help sell the mp3s. I have set myself a goal of having 50 Squidoo lenses by the end of 2008 - I have 18 live now.
